Dick and I had a great time in Maine photographing puffins, loons, bald eagles and the rocky shoreline of Acadia National Park. We slayed the bass fishing in Maine's rivers, streams, and hundreds of freshwater lakes.
On our travels back to Florida, we stopped at the Conowingo Dam in Maryland where an upward of 150 bald eagles gather in the fall and winter to fight over fish that have been temporarily stunned after tumbling through the turbines. All the eagles have to do is pick them up out of the water. Dick called it a bald eagle shooting gallery!
Our journey brought us back to Florida where the birds are abundant and the weather is warmer! We purchased a new ultra stable tritoon photography boat for the bald eagle and rhesus monkey tours located on several lakes and rivers near Gainesville. The tours have an abundance of bald eagles, ospreys, herons, kingfishers, egrets and lots of wildlife. The tours are offered now through the end of April 2020.
Many photographers have joined us during the holidays for bald eagle and monkey tours. Check out the photos of photographers and wildlife from the tours...
Dick had a great day with Bobby (Bobby Wummer Photography) on a lake in Orlando photographing bald eagles and snail kites! Bobby is a hoot! Check out the video....
Dick and Dave went red fishing along with photography on the Withlacoochee River with our friend Dave. It was a beautiful day!
